Walking Field Trip to Celebrate Community Helpers!

We enjoyed a chilly fall walk to the Hudson Public Library and Hudson Police Station last week!  The library put on a special story time for our group.  This included songs, a puppet show, and a cooking craft!  We also enjoyed some free time exploring the children’s section as well!

After our library visit, we met Officer Knepler for our tour of the police station.  As we walked through, we met other officers and learned what each department does each day.  We also climbed in a squad car and talked a lot about safety!  We ended our tour with donuts and goodies and sang happy birthday to James!

A special thanks to Officer Knepler (James’ dad) and children’s librarian, Shelley Tougas for facilitating such a wonderful field trip for us!  Kindergarten memories were made!

All Aboard! Osceola Railway Train Ride Adventure!

We had a wonderful time on our Osceola train ride!  Famous for being the very last train in North America to deliver mail by locomotive, this historical gem did not disappoint!  Our 90 minute adventure began in our own private dining car where we enjoyed our lunches, coloring activities and giant windows to enjoy all of the northern October fall colors!  Throughout the ride, many train conductors stopped by to give us more information about our ride and about the train.  One retired volunteer conductor said he rode this very same train to Montreal, Canada when he was a little boy!

Some highlights from the ride were getting to stand on the back of the caboose, crossing over the bridge on the St. Croix River, eating lunch on the train and seeing hidden waterfalls along the bluffs.  We are blessed with wonderful memories and friendships!  Thank you to all of our parent volunteers who came with us on our adventure!

We are friends!

F is for Friend!

Our very first kindergarten collaborative project was working with a partner on completing an ABC poster.  Teams had to color, draw and label their poster to display on the wall for Grandparent’s Day!  Check them out when you’re hear for Parent/Teacher Conferences!  Could these students be any cuter?
