Outdoor Classroom Day!

Happy National Outdoor Classroom Day 2018!  We had a BLAST playing and learning in the great outdoors!  Many of my students asked if we could just permanently move our classroom outside!  We started our day of learning by setting up our space in the “quiet area” portion of our playground.  It was a nice area in the grass that had quite a bit of shade.  Once we set up camp, we played with our new bubble wands.  While creating bubbles, we talked about buoyancy and why bubbles float?  We had snack around a giant picnic blanket and re-read our Easter season story from the Bible of “Breakfast with Jesus.”  We thanked Jesus for creating us and our beautiful world!  The afternoon was spent playing group games, singing songs, journaling about the great outdoors, practicing yoga, and painting and creating a fairy garden world.  I think one of the highlights was feeding our pet guinea pigs dandelions and making flower crowns!

We were so thankful for a beautiful, sunny day!  Life.  Is.  Good.

Gala Masquerade Party!

We did it!  Our class met our goal for selling over the amount of suggested raffle tickets for our annual fundraiser!  Each class is asked to sell raffle tickets to raise money for our school and this year we raised way more than we ever have!   All classes who met their goal got to attend a special party to play games and have snacks!  Parents attended the annual gala, A Magnificent Masquerade, a few weeks prior.

Can you tell who is who?

A special thanks to the PARENTS for making this donation possible by helping your child sell their tickets!

Then and Now

My!  How our year has flown?  It’s fun and sad to see how much these K students have grown in one school year!  They’re still sweet, caring, fun-loving, goofy and future leaders!  We have so much to look forward to with the class of 2030!

Kindergarten Reader’s Theater: Hop On Pop!

Kindergarten did an outstanding job presenting their reader’s theater version of the Dr. Seuss classic, Hop On Pop! for parents and family members a few weeks ago!  Each child read a line independently and with a partner.  Our goal was to read so everyone could hear each word they said and to read with expression and feeling.  They did a wonderful job and were very excited to read!
