This was the shortest week in terms of days, but by far one of the busiest of the year! We are up to 12 sight-words that we have learned so far this year. We are working on remembering all of them, and what better way to do that, than by playing with balloons! We learn best through play!
#YOLO, You only live once was our slogan for Red Ribbon week! We talked about ways we keep our bodies healthy, happy & strong. We met with our 4th grade reading buddies on “team up against drugs” day. What a great looking group! On wear red day, we were all given funny mustaches (even Mrs. Wagner).
A surprise visit from Deacon Sam!
We’re loving our community helper unit! This week has been a blast working as doctors in our classroom clinic and building structures like construction workers!
Thank you for visiting our class Mrs Foster! We enjoyed hearing about what it’s like to be a nurse!
We could not have been blessed with a more perfect walking day today! The kids were on their best behavior and it was fun watching them get so excited over everything! We learned so much about fire safety and how the EMS responds to emergencies. Check out our photos!
We covered every subject during our nature walk and leaf exploration activity! The kids walked with clip boards, observing living and non living things, looking for our letters of the week (N and P) and leaves of all colors. Once we collected our leaves and data, we returned to the classroom to sort the leaves we collected by size and color. Later that day we created some leaf art using our leaves and water colors. The kids did a great job working in small teams, sharing their ideas and tools, and staying safe on our walk!
We had a great time at Maple Leaf Orchard on Wednesday! The kids loved the bus ride, hay ride, apple polishing machine and pumpkin picking.
Friday was our fun bouncy ball making experiment! We broke up into small groups so each student could make their own ball. Everyone did a great job using their scientific tools to measure what we needed for the experiment. Once they dried a little, we were able to test them on our tile floor. It was so fun!
